First Look at WIX
After creating my Wix account I had a play around with their templates and got used to the format of the website creator, as I have not previously used it before. The layout I went for was simplistic and had a modern look to it, which is what I want portrayed on my website.
I'm going to carry on playing around with the colour palette as although I like the dark tone given off by this look, I feel as though there needs to be more colour to make the title stand out more.
I changed the tabs at the top and added social media links to enable for future cross-platform convergence.
I am also thinking of adding a video as the background for the main homepage that could also be seen in my documentary.

Generic Research: language and digital convergence
How do media producers use language to communicate meaning?
- Location/setting - As seen in the three documentaries I analysed it is very clearly seen across all of them that the location is a very good way to set the mood and for the content being produced, such as in the Stacey Dooley Investigates documentary such locations as used like streets at night with police on etc. to set the tone for an investigative documentary.
- Colour Palette - This is seen mainly used throughout the websites to help maintain a brand identity and is used across all forms of media. The distinctive use of a colour palette helps the audience to recognise a certain brand on other platforms.
- Music/voiceover - Both of these are very important within documentaries and with communicating meaning as the music is a very useful way for the producers to set the tone, such as using faster-paced music will help determine a faster editing pace and create tension. Voiceovers help to inform the viewer of whats going on in the documentary and can be used well when there's a non-related clip on screen.
- Shot/angle - The types of shots and angles used by the producer within a documentary are very useful for creating meaning as it is a very powerful way of positioning the audience in a way that can make them feel as though they are an outsider or as though they should be afraid of what's on-screen for example.
